Welcome!

So...I was actually going to keep a detailed journal from Day 1 with my new horse...and now we're 6 weeks into the game, and I've handwritten one page. Considering the amount of time I spend on the computer anyway, I thought I'd try my hand at a blog instead.

So, let's get into the Wayback Machine and try to reconstruct some of our time together so far.

Let's start with the basics here: the horse! In my defense, I wasn't looking for a horse, but Craigslist is an insidious monster, and you know what they say about good intentions! Instead of finding myself a nice, quiet, dead broke schoolie like I should, I came home with Kip. Kipling. The Mystery Horse.

Here is the photo that suckered me in:

He was removed from a bad situation and given everything he needed, but the new owner didn't have time for him, so here we are, he and I. The vet says he's around 10 years old. (HE says he's 2 on most days!) He's supposed to be an Anglo-Arab, which I believe - long TB back, TB legs, and Arab everything else. Cutest curvy little ears. When he's good, he's very very good, and when he's not, well, he's a challenge!

I'll be trying to catch us up to the present over the weekend. Things fade in memory over time, and I hope to look back on this blog years from now as a sort of scrapbook.
